Summer Senior Meals program
Harris County Area Agency on Aging
Thursday, June 26,2008

The Summer Senior Meals program is a pilot program in partnership with the Reliant Energy Beat the Heat Program, the City Multi-Service Centers, participating Senior Housing Complexes and participating Faith Based Organizations.  Operation dates for Beat the Heat are June 16th through August 15th.  Depending on the demand and success of this pilot we may extend the meals portion through September.  The goal of the summer program is to provide at least 1,000 seniors - who are not currently participating in our congregate meals program - a daily box lunch and a cooling center to reduce utilities cost and to assist with rising food cost.

Here's how our partners can help:  Please pass the Summer Senior Meals program flyer on to any potential senior groups, sites or individuals.  Please feel free to contact Deborah A. Moore at 713-794-49008 or deboraha.moore@cityofhouston.net for participating information!
