  211/Access Network
Overview

The Care for Elders Access Network gives older adults one phone number ("2-1-1") to call for information, answers and connection to services in Harris County.

Launched in May 2006, the Access Network combines the strengths of multiple service organizations to provide enhanced information and referral services, benefits counseling and case management to older adults as they attempt to navigate the system and access the services they need.

A substantial grant from the United Way of Greater Houston created a Flexible Funding Pool that allows Access Network partners to purchase needed services for their clients when there are no existing community resources to meet a need.
