2014 Direct Care Worker of the Year Nomination Announcement
The Direct Care Worker of the Year Award will be given at the 17th Annual Direct Care Workers conference luncheon on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 to recognize individuals who serve as role models for others, who go "above and beyond the call of duty," and/or who contribute to improving client satisfaction or quality of life for the seniors they serve. Individuals can be nominated for the award by their managers, supervisors, co-workers, or family members of clients.

Houston Money Week Race Around the City
Race around the city solving financial riddles, learning about ways to save money, and winning $1,000 for your favorite Houston area charity in this family friendly scavenger hunt! 100% of event proceeds benefit the Houston Money Week initiative, which provides free financial education workshops throughout Houston.
When and Where?
On Saturday, April 5th, the hunt will start from the Federal Reserve Bank (1801 Allen Parkway). Registration and breakfast (provided) open at 7:45, with the first teams launched at 8:30. Teams of 3- 4 will solve clues, master tasks, and answer financial questions as they visit some great Houston locations! Teams will upload their proof photos to the Houston Money Week Facebook and/or Twitter pages as they find their stops and solve the challenges. Each team will need at least one smartphone and are encouraged to travel together in one car for the competition. The winner will be determined not on speed but on a variety of factors.
The cost is $25 for a team of up to 4 people, plus a small Eventbrite processing fee ($30 plus processing fees at the door).

Teams must have a paid ticket to be eligible to compete, and each team can designate only one charity to receive the grand prize. Seeking Individual Abstracts: Recruiting and Retaining Vulnerable Older Adults in Mental Health Research
The Mental Health and Aging Interest Group have created a symposia entitled, Recruitment and Retention Strategies for Vulnerable Older Adults in Mental Health Research. The group is seeking individual abstracts about lessons learned in recruiting and retaining vulnerable older adults into mental health and other health-related research studies.
