Answering the Call for Excellence Award
What makes a direct care worker excellent?

There are many roles direct care workers have in providing care to people of all ages who have disabilities or a chronic illness and need their assistance. Direct care workers are a lifeline for those they serve, as well as families and friends struggling to provide quality care. Excellence is a requirement of direct care workers in helping older adults manage the challenges they face.

With acknowledgement and respect to the critical role of the direct care workers, Care for Elders was proud to present the “Answering the Call for Excellence” Award at the Fall 2013 Direct Care Workers Conference luncheon on Monday, August 12, 2013. This was the first time this award has been given at the Direct Care Workers Conference. Two award winners were selected each receiving a plaque and $200, and all seven applicants were recognized.
