March 19, 2008- THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR CONTACTING SENATOR CORNYN AND HUTCHISON ABOUT THIS IMPORTANT BUDGET AMENDMENT! Both Senators Cornyn and Hutchison voted in FAVOR of this amendment! This is the money for the bill that will allow states to develop a nationwide database of criminal convictions. Currently, our DPS check only has information on criminal convictions in our State and only those that actually get into the database. Please consider sending Senator Cornyn, Senator Hutchison, and Senator Kohl (WI; Chair of the Senate Special Committee on Aging) a note of thanks for their support of our most vulnerable citizens.
